In the UK, 16 babies a day are stillborn or die in the first 4 weeks of life.
SANDS is working to support bereaved parents, and to press for improvements in care during pregnancy and when a baby has died.
We chose this charity because as with most issues you don’t think about them until they are happening to you.
Our beloved co-worker Lisa lost her baby Jonathan last November at 23 weeks and we have all been affected and moved by his existence in the world, even though we never met him. The way Lisa has coped with this tragedy and support she has received has been a direct result of the SANDS charity.
Fundraising Event
On Saturday 2nd October 2004 we have organised a sponsored Pram Push to support the charity SANDS. We will be walking through the city centre of Leeds, West Yorkshire and we would like to encourage anyone who wishes to join in to email us and we will send you extra details.
If you are out and about shopping in Leeds that day show your support by joining us for as much of the walk as you can, there is plenty of entertainment for the children, treasure hunts and prizes for everyone.
All of our children our precious, don’t forgot the ones that never made it.
